Haven't been in Deep Ellum in ages , like 15 years or so, lol. Except when riding through to the state fair.

How is the area/parking late at night. Considering going to a concert, with kids...

What day of the week? Parking is not great, especially on the weekends or especially if Trees, Bomb Factory and Canton Hall all have near-capacity shows on the same night. On those nights, I usually just uber or take the train (I live in lower greenville).

That being said, parking is usually achievable, I would just leave extra time.

Thanks. It is this Saturday, Bomb Factory.
Safety-wise, ok?

Deep Ellum has improved a lot over the past fifteen years. Safety-wise, I would not worry about being mugged, but the weekends are very crowded and full of drunk, wasted people. I've seen people throw up, scream vulgarities, and start fights with other drunk people, but I don't really fear anything as long as I mind my own business.

Deep ellum is awesome. It's probably the coolest neighborhood in dallas. You will have tons of fun that you will never forget. It kind of have a slight vibe of 6th street and bourbon street on the weekends. A year and a half ago, it was nowhere near as crowded as it is today. I love deep ellum.

To be fair, I've seen the same in downtown, uptown, greenville, etc.

Yes Deep Ellum does get a bit crowded, but no I wouldn't worry about safety any more than normal there. Parking will be a bit tough on Saturday though.

Free parking will be tough. But paid parking is usually available in at least one lot.

agreed. Just allow for at least 15 minutes to find parking on a Saturday night. Sometimes you find it immediately, sometimes it takes 20 minutes or walking farther than you planned on. It's usually available, just dont cut it close on time if youre driving + parking in deep ellum.
