Selecting a Realtor (Plano, Frisco, West: sales, real estate, association)

Thanks for the reply for my earlier thread.

Can anyone help me in locating a good Realtor (Serving West Plano/Frisco Areas),I am new to this area.What Questiond should we ask them before finalising the right one?

Internet search gives a lot of option, but which one should we go for??

Make sure the person you choose to represent you is a Realtor, not everyone that sells real estate is one. Realtors are members of the National Association of Realtors and have to adhere to a strict code of ethics.

You will need to google the name of the Realtor you choose.

Check if they are on the Ripoff Report: By Consumers, For Consumers (http://www.ripoffreport.com/default.asp - broken link)

Check for disciplinary actions from the Texas Real Estate Commission and complaints.

Recent references are a must... not sales from years ago... if the agent is an active one, they should provide you several within the last few months.

Ask what they do to make sure you get the best deal on the market.

It's is imperative that you feel very comfortable with whomever you choose to represent you. This in an important investment.
