We have been looking for a home in north dallas for a while.
Our jobs are remote but we wanted to stay around Plano.
We found a home in Parker that meets our needs.
How is the commute from Parker to Plano?
How is the community?
Is it welcoming to new people?
We are from MN but of Indian origin.

Are there new projects that may affect the property values/commutes?

any feedback on
Marth Hunt Elementary School
Murphy Middle
CA McMillen High School
Plana East Senior High School

I will use school digger but I was hoping for some personal experiences in these schools.

Try to learn as much about Parker as we can before making an offer.

Thanks

Parts of Parker are directly adjacent to Plano, so the commute to east Plano is extremely short, as in across the street. Most of the jobs in Plano are on the far west side, so that's about 12miles away ie: not that great, but doable in 30 minutes. It really depends on where you are working.

Just shows you how much the Metroplex is moving North. Lived in Dallas off/on 20+ years and have never heard of Parker

We had never heard of parker either. We are just looking at Plano, Allen, Frisco and Prosper. In Zillow map I chose to remove the boundary and it started showing homes in adjacent cities. Lot sizes are bigger. Still has Plano schools. Still learning about the schools, demographics, and rankings.

Parker is east of Plano, right next to Murphy and Lucas. Lots are larger than most surrounding suburbs, mainly 1 acre in size. Is unique in that due to the large lot size, it has a more rural setting even though its in a large metropolitan area like DFW. The schools you listed I think are in Murphy and Plano ISD. You will find that those schools are very good and should serve your children's educational needs. Due to being east of 75, if your office is anywhere on the 75 corridor then commute will be a breeze. Now if your office is in West Plano then the commute will be longer, probably closer to half an hour, but I would think very doable. There is a ton of shopping and restaurants nearby on the 75 corridor as well as in Allen. Again due to the large lot size, it's going to be very different to what you would have seen in Plano or Frisco, so make sure you go visit to get a feel for whether this is for you or not.

Parker is the rage these days. Personally, I think the schools would made me think. Choose Fairview with Lovejoy ISD.
