I have attached a picture of a driveway that I took. It has been about 2 days since concrete was poured and It appears to me that it has damaged the surface and finish.

Is this my overreaction or should I be asking project manager to have the driveway re-finished?

It rained the same day concrete was poured, is this normal or could cause issues later?-driveway-photo.jpg

Did you ask for a 'salt' finish? Looks like that could be a poorly done salt job.

I'm surprised he poured knowing that it would rain, those guys really watch the weather. Yes, ask for a re-do.

Yes Salt finished driveway is what was supposed to be done. So is this more of a salt finish or rain washed?

1. If I was the contractor it'd take a court order for me to redo that job.

2. It's looks fine to me per a salt-finish, scoring lines look good etc.

3. New pours wrecked by rain are obvious the scoring lines would be gone, there'd be lots of slop concrete over the forms or other barrier especially to the low side.

ETA - if the pour was past, I think the pros call it, "initial set" meaning the surface was firm/hard to the touch nothing short of legit hail or biblical rain causes harm. Past initial set rain is helpful as moisture seeps into the surface slowing unwanted cure a little and when it's hot rain carries aways lots of cure generated heat.

ETA II - a contractor buddy looked at the pic and says 99% chance your are good. However, wait another couple of days and scrape the surface, especially a corner or two, with a nail or screwdriver just hard enough to leave a mark. If lots of concrete comes off in thin flakes you've got an issue. If scraping leaves nothing but a little line move on.

I think you got what you paid for then, but maybe not the best job. Looks much 'heavier' some places.

How many hours between the pour and the rain?

This. A light rain after it's poured actually helps the concrete cure better with less stress cracks.

What's worse is pouring concrete when it's 105 degrees outside and no one around to wet down the concrete the first few days.

Thank you, absolutely helpful. I will try that Monday.

Approximately 12 hours. Concrete was poured sometime around previous Thursday noon and it rained Friday early morning, I think 1AM or so.
