We’d like to do a simple backyard sports court. Probably no bigger than a regulation basketball half court. We have flat ground to work with a in smooth backyard. We may do some lighting.

Does anybody have recommendations (Alpha/Hillcrest area)? If you’ve done it, can you share cost? I know you have to grade it, but is concrete plus surface plus a hoop going to be that much?

My daughter has 3 friends who have sports courts in their backyard, a single full-size tennis court, which you can also take the net down to make decent sized basketball court. The "in-thing" now is to paint it a cool color or design that shows up on Google maps.

They all live in cul-de-sac corners, so they have bigger than average backyards. In the grand scheme of 'expensive', no a big court of cement is not that expensive. But easily like $5-10k in total costs. Sorry I don't know any companies who do them.

I would have estimated closer to like $20-30k all in or more (we've been thinking about it as well). You can hire someone to throw down a rectangular pad of concrete for that cost but I'd guess most companies that will actually make it look nicer will end up being a lot more than $10k.

To do the concrete for a full size tennis court and surrounding out of bounds dimensions is 60' X 120'. We built a concrete slab for a garage 2 years ago that was 35' x 20'... that was $10k right there.

You're looking at a minimum of $20k for a half sized basketball court just for concrete, unless prices have come down drastically.
