The Associated Press: School district hosts credit-card abuse auction

If you're looking for jewelry, clothing, or other personal items, DISD just might be the best place to buy right now.

Now how many other area codes are so wealthy that their school district employees can afford such luxury?

I love the phrase "disciplined the employees"...
they should be IN JAIL...
TEA needs to take over this district--apparently there is no one who is capable of putting the fear of God or morality into the people who work in the ad bldg--I don't think any teachers really had access to those cards--they are for people who travel on district business--so you can imagine the things bought on them that can't be returned...drinks. expensive hotel rooms, massages...

Disciplined the employees?

Since the most common form of discipline in the DISD is with the paddle, otherwise known as the "board of education", did the credit card employees have their turn?

Excellent comments. No, this particular incident has nothing to do with the teachers. It has everything to do with the poor management that seems to never get it, and is a source of constant embarrassment.

This is just one more in a series of epic failures that is DISD, and drags the entire metroplex down in terms of perception by those in other parts of the country who might be looking to relocate here.
