Hi everyone,

I moved to Grand Prairie for a job back in November. I am a 25 year-old single female. I need to relocate to a safer neighborhood. Can anyone recommend specific neighborhoods (with streets) or apartment communities that are more urban? Ideally, it would be 25-35 minute commute (against traffic on I30) to Grand Prairie, with more young, single, professionals. The only friends I have are from work, and it would be nice to be in an area close to night-life activities. My budget is about $750/month, but will consider a roommate-type situation. Also, I don't expect anything shiny and new. Just close to where the young, single, fun people live! Thanks!

You are definitely going to want to look at areas around Greenville Ave, Knox-Henderson, McKinney Ave., Addison, Uptown, etc.

This.

I personally would look in the West Village area, but there are lots of other great parts of Uptown that suit yuppies well.

Do you care how vibrant the GLBTQ community is in the immediate vicinity you'll be living? The entire area is gay-friendly on the whole, but some parts are much more loud about it than others are.
