My Family and I we been looking foward to move to Dallas area, we visited the area 6 months ago and will be going again in December. My husband will be working in Carrollton. I'm stay home mother of 4. We want to move for the same reason alot of people do, Better living, school and better pay. We have some areas in our search. but i need an opinion from people who live in this areas. I have a $900 budget to Rent a 3 bed house. My daughter will be going to gymnastics in Frisco. So this are my questions, i hope i get answers please.

1) Im interested in Carrollton, Lewisville, Richardson, Little Elm
Im looking for a safe place, good elementary schools, the houses dont have to be new, but a family oriented place is very important.(I dont wanna be worry about somebody stoling my car or breaking into my house)
2) I seen a couple of threads that said that $800-$950 its not enough to get a nice house, with good school and safe place. Is this really true?
3) Can someone suggest me other areas to look, that would be with my budget but still covers the safe, nice and good school package?
4) Theres three Gymnastic places, Dallas, Frisco and Plano, and my husband will be working in Carrollton. So any middle class neighborhood around this areas would be great.
Thank you very much

$900 is not going to get you what you want in Carrollton, Richardson, Plano, or N. Dallas. I'm not familiar with Little Elm or Lewisville. There are many factors in deciding where to live. You may look into a 3 bedroom apt. that ensures good schools, a short commute, and low(er) energy prices.

from what I've looked at on-line for a decent 3 bedroom house you need around $1050--$1200. Try looking here though, you might compromise on some space and find something:

DFW Home Rental - North Texas Real Estate

I started looking for a home, but then decided just to rent an apartment until I get to a point where I can buy, which would be within a year with the $$ I would save by renting an apartment vs a house.
