We've all seen the news articles talking about how bad the housing market is. Sales prices down year-over-year, sales quantities down, days on market up, etc, etc.

Yesterday, I received my monthly Advocate for Lake Highlands. I always look forward to the "Real Estate Report" that's printed about half way through the magazine. This month's numbers showed, at least in the Lake Highlands area, that the numbers were improving over 2009 averages and I thought I could post them and ask for others to post the numbers in their magazine from different areas.

In the areas bound by Central Expressway to Jupiter and from Walnut to NW Highway. The averages are per sector - with LH having 15 different sectors. I live in Sector 7:

YTD sales '09: 5.0 per sector (8 in sector 7)
YTD sales '10: 5.27 per sector (11 in sector 7)

Avg Price YTD '09: $263,081.50 ($364K in sector 7)
Avg Price YTD '10: $278,616.31 ($355K in sector 7)

Average days on market 2010: 47.14 (12 in sector 7)

While this data is only through February, it was non-the-less nice to see that the markets are at minimum holding steady with a possible improvement (need a few more months to really get a better idea).

I know we have some real estate agents on this site - so I'd love to hear their perspective on local markets as well. Looking forward to this discussion.

Brian
