"Uncle Tom's Cabin" reminds me of The King and I. Anna produces a little play based on Little Tom's Cabin to convince the king to allow one of his ladies to escape the death penalty. The production is stunning and is Asian in genre. I will never forget it. I was fortunate enough to see The King and I in Dallas on stage starring Yul Brynner back in the day. I was and still am crazy about Yul Brynner.
I have over 2500 movies. I'm a movie fanatic just as I am with books. I attribute both to my father. When I was 5 and my mother was pregnant with my little sister he and I would stay up to watch the black & white Charlie Chan movies on the TV. I have them all now from Oland, Toler and Winters. Good stuff. Oh, I also have "The Bowery Boys." He also took me to see all the Disney movies along with monster movies like "The Creature From the Black Lagoon" and "Tarantula." It's amazing that I don't have a split personality. Wait, maybe I do.
And so, my vision of retirement came true. DVDs and books: heaven.
