Hello,
We will be staying at Montchanin Village for our anniversary. We dont get out much without the kids or off work very often. We are looking for a nice place for dinner with possibly some Jazz? So far I found MORO restaurant and Sullivans Steakhouse. We cant afford both so its one or the other..Anyone been to both and can give input...

I've heard really good things about Sullivans but haven't been.

There's also a Melting Pot in the area. Haven't been to that one, and no jazz, but it can be romantic.

If you're staying in the Inn at Montchanin Village, why not do dinner at Krazy Kats? It's one of the best restaurants in the area, and you'll be right there. Moro is also good. Sullivan's is much the same as fancy steakhouses everywhere.

Krazy Kats IMO is somewhat inconsistent. They can be great and at other times not so great, and they often seem to be rather disorganised. Basicaly we quit going there for that reason. If you don't want to get away from the Inn, however, you could always eat there.

The Green Room at Hotel DuPont can be nice, but if you aren't there on a weekend or special day, it can be boring because so few other diners. I also find the service there lacklustre at times.

What about Domaine Hudson? It has its good and not so good points I guess.

I would choose Moro over Sullivan's simply because Moro is in charming Trolley Square, whilst Sullivan's is on soul-killing 202/Concord Pike.

Unfortunately, we were at Krazy Kats two (2) not-so-great times.
I'll second Moro, although we haven't been there recently.

I had a good report on Moro just the other day. We had also quit going there because a couple of years they went through a bad patch and we got burned. Back in 2007-2008 we thought they had the best steaks in town and amazing variety on their menu. I used to find their service a little rough -- not grossly incompetent or deliberately rude, but just a little unrefined, like they'd taken college students and not really given them any training. Don't know how that is now, but in the past it wasn't enough to keep us from going there and enjoying the food. I like their building and the location.
