If it is any help, there are certain windows of time at Costco where it is free and clear.

I won't go near CostCo on a Saturday or Friday night.

If you go on Sunday morning at opening (10:00am) or just after "church hour" it will be nearly empty
and your fellow patrons will also be dressed in their Sunday best.

Also, if it is in your schedule, a week night 1 hour before closing is also an optimal downtime where
you will not find any crowds or long lines.

The mad house should speak to popularity.

I can't speak for the stores in DE, but here in NY , the Costco does a much better business than BJ's .....You can go thru the line fast at Bj's , but you will be in a much longer line at Costco ....The prices are lower on meat and other items at Costco ...You can also get better cut's of beef and larger packages of rib's and other meats at a lower price at Costco ....
