Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving from Kent County, Delaware, and our sleepy little town. So quiet and serene here. I may visit our little store tomorrow in town, called Simply Charming....appropriately named. It's an old mill overlooking our town pond, and about 3 blocks from us. That will be the extent of my "shopping madness".

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you as well! I drove up to Middletown today, and it was actually a pleasant drive....not as many cars out as I thought. Very relaxing!

I recall the first Thanksgiving I drove home to visit family while being stationed at McGuire AF Base. A very long 3 1/2 hour drive home and the first time I heard the new song -Alice's Restaurant Massacree.

Over the years and wherever I lived that song always made the trip home to not seem quite so long- especially when I started out very very early in the morning.

I no longer do long drives on Thanksgiving morning, but, that song will always be part of my Thanksgiving tradition. A great PBS special - and an updated version of Alice's Restaurant was on TV tonight - but, I still love the original.

I went for a lovely walk on the beach this morning - could not ask for a nicer day in Lewes.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving . I would not consider leaving Long Neck during all the shopping frenzy. We had a family member visiting and went to La Dolce Vita here on Long Neck for Thanksgiving dinner. It was the basic Thanksgiving dinner (Turkey ,dressing ,sweet potatoes ,string beans .cranberry sauce ,salad and apple crisp) for a whopping $16.95. Large portions of great food with good service. Why cook? Sadly they were not real busy. I know were we will be next Thanksgiving.
