Ditto DesertRat's response. I live in Union Park Gardens and commute 3-4 days/week, depending on schedule. Always anticipate 90 minutes door-to-door to account for traffic and walk from garage to office. Frequently enough, need 2 hours, i.e. Tuesday took 40 minutes from 76 merge after Platt Bridge to University Ave (usually 5 mins if that). For me, Septa is just not realistic. Between too few trains and my morning routine and preferred time of arrival, not to mention paying to park at Wilmington Train Station, it just isn't worth it. Claymont might be worth a try at some point if more trains are added; Marcus Hook is a little too sketchy for me, especially in winter. Years ago when I lived in Trolley, I just missed getting stuck in Philly during a snow storm. I left work early and ended up on last train before service stopped at 2p.

Sounds like a hastle, one way or the other.
I live in down-state Delaware, and we hear these stories all the time from transplants who've moved to lower Delaware, from the Rat Race (no pun intended).
