Anyone planning to attend Return day in Georgetown? Sussex County Return Day - Georgetown, Delaware

When I was in HS (in Milford) and college (I graduated from Del Tech in Georgetown) I attended a couple of Return Days and just loved the small town/small state feel of the event. People are always surprised when I tell them that I met Joe Biden more then a couple of times.

Return Day is a great Sussex County tradition. I remember marching in the parade in both my junior and high school bands. I haven't been since 2000 but it is a great experience, especially to those new to Sussex County. The night before Ox Roast is a good time also. Enjoy!

I was kinda hoping that a civic minded Delawarean would respond saying that they were planning to go. I last attended 30 years ago when I lived in Sussex County. Are there no posters from lower-slower attending?

Maybe they are all there instead of on the net. Although I spoke with my mom and she said the weather was pretty bad there today. I would have loved to go but have other obligations keeping me here in Baltimore.

The weather here in central DE was not so pleasant yesterday, which probably put a damper on the crowd at Return Day. I had hoped to take my folks there, as we are all new to DE and my dad is not a fan of the Democrats. But as it turned out, we had more immediate things to take care of closer to home, and unfortunately were not able to attend.

Sounds like an interesting tradition, one which I am sorry we missed!

Mary

I checked out the link for this and was intrigued by the free ox meat sandwiches - thanks for posting this; I'll have to check it out next year!
