Does anyone know what the closest quiet beach is to Newark, DE? I'm looking for something that isn't busy, maybe just to walk along and pick up sea shells. One if the kids I work with said that Smyrna Beach is a quiet beach for "old people" ( he is barely out of his teens) but I couldn't find such a place online.

Thanks in advance.

White Crystal Beach, or Lum's Pond

White Crystal is in Cecil County, Maryland. I used to drive from Dover to there for their beach. It's near Earlville, MD a short distance from Middletown, DE. Lum's Pond is near Summit Bridge, north of Middltown.

Maybe the kid was talking about Lake Como, in Smyrna.

There are some areas where you could walk along the Delaware Bay If memory serves me correctly Rt 9 runs along there. Nice places to walk and relax. I would not care to go swimming there.
