Is it something you have to do often before you notice stains?

I plan to just have 1 glass for a special occasion and that's it. Will I be fine?

I have a glass of red wine maybe twice a month, hasn't stained my teeth.

Brush your teeth before you go to bed and you'll be fine. Coffee, tea, red grape juice, and red wine will stain your teeth over time but one glass of wine is not going to be noticeable. The longer these items remain on your teeth the more likely they are to leave a stain. Even rinsing soon after drinking these items will minimize any stain.

If it's a rare special occasion, why aren't you drinking Champagne?

I drink red wine all the time and don't really have a problem. This new dentist of mine told me that coffee is more of a problem than red wine. Not sure about that, but that's what he said. I had a friend who, every time she drank red wine, her teeth ended up looking like blueberries. lol But it was just for the night, it didn't stain.

EDIT: I brush my teeth with baking soda (moistened with water - using it dry might damage enamel).
