I’ve had multiple failed root canals performed by the same Endodontist. He’s retreated 3 of the 4. They were teeth #3, #13, #14, and #30. I used to dip smokeless tobacco for 22 years. So, I’ve got bad teeth with severe gum recession. The Endodontist says it could be the gum recession, calcified roots, or cracked teeth that have caused the root canals to fail. I’ve gotten 2 of the 4 teeth pulled within one year of the root canals, which means a loss of $5,000 due to the cost of root canals and crowns. I expect I will lose the other two as well, meaning a waste of $10,000. This is a huge deal to me as it took me many years to save up the $10,000. Also, I had root canals by another Endodontist before this guy and those have not failed. I also wasn’t as in bad of pain with those teeth as well though. I wouldn’t have gone back to the guy who did the last four, but they all failed around the same time. It’s not as if I kept going back after they failed.
At any rate, I have two questions...1. Has anyone had a similar experience with so many failed root canals? 2. Can anyone tell me what it’s like to basically have no molars? I will have lost all three back teeth (including wisdom teeth) on all sides if I get the rest of these pulled.

Maybe find a different endodontist? I've had 12 root canals some of them more than 30 years ago and have never had one fail.
Know what the definition for insanity is? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting results.
OP stated that the 4 root canals in question failed at about the same time. Sounds as if OP did not keep going to same dentist multiple times after multiple failures.
Did you get crowns placed on the teeth after the root canals?
What was the EXACT reason for the teeth needing to be removed? A new cavity?
