I have a large gap between my two front teeth and was wondering what would be the quickest, cheapest, least painful way to fix or minimize the gap? I don't really know anything about any of this so any information is welcome.

I had a big gap myself. Problem solved when I got hit in the mouth by a golf ball, and the crown was designed to fit more closely to the other front tooth.

While I was undergoing root canals etc., my mom helpfully remarked -- more than once! -- that I always wanted to have that gap fixed.

It wasn't cheap, but it was painful.

That gap between the front teeth is called a diastema and some people find it to be very sexy. I have no answer to your question; I had a fairly prominent one as a child but braces (to correct a mouthful of crooked teeth) took most of it away. I'm very happy with the tiny diastema I have left.

I have heard the sexy thing but I also think the general public might not like it and I am about to start a career in television.

Default my dentists recommedation

It depends how far apart they are. I never had one till my bite split my front teeth according to my dentist. It's not bad but filling them in is not an option. His cosmetic recommendation was to replace my front teeth with small crowns without metal inlay and add a veneer to the side of each crown to balance the look since the rest of my teeth are small. If he was to just to replace my front teeth only I would look like Bugs Bunny.
Never heard the sexy thing. It's more like the looks adds more character. Everyone tells me how Madonna and Lauren Hutton look fabulous with their spaces. The Pastor TD Jakes has a wide gap. Some people really like their look.
