I'm having a dinner party this weekend, and I can't find a butcher that carries lamb. I can only find the prepackaged lamb. I'm not looking for "organic" necessarily but I want as natural as possible - i.e. no growth hormones, no additives in packaging process, etc.

Besides the obvious supermarket suggestions, anyone know a butcher that carries lamb? I am in SE Aurora, but I use a wine store off Broadway in SE Denver, so anything that side of town is fine as I'll be headed there before the dinner anyway.

Thanks so much for your input!

This is out of your way but you could try Marczyk Fine Foods

Call ahead and ask if they have any fresh lamb. In the past I have ordered lamb from them ahead of time and as with all of their meats it was fantastic. Whole foods is my backup for most meats and my primary for pork ribs to be smoked.

Almost forgot, there is also Olivers, Oliver's Meat Market - Denver, CO, 80218 - Citysearch

Now, some people will swear by them but I stopped going there a couple of years ago after I thought the quality was starting to diminish.

I would suggest Tony's also....or somewhere in the vicinity of Leetsdale and Alameda - I think there is a Greek church and community in that area....
