Ok I've lived in here now for 7 years and can't find a really good men's haircut anywhere. I went to the same place in Beverly Hills for 10 years and always had a great haircut. Please don't recommend Floyd's (they all seem hopped up on Red Bulls and just want you out the door). I'd also prefer not to spend $200 in Cherry Creek or deal with the attitude. There has to be someone, preferably near downtown, who is good at cutting guy's hair. Thanks.

I've never quite understood spending a lot of money on a guy's haircut. Seems like just about anyone I go to can cut my hair just fine, and I don't think it's that hard. It's only a little over an inch long at the longest after a cut anyway. I understand my wife spending quite a bit on hers, but that's because there is a lot more to her hair than mine. Unless your hair is really long and complex or you're trying to look like Justin Bieber, I just don't get it. A $200 haircut would look just like the $20 haircut I get now.

Maybe you could help me understand, sorry this is off topic. I go to Floyds now, and have found a gal there that I keep going back to and does a great job.

I am $15-20 haircut kind of guy, but my wife once set me up with a $120 haircut in NYC. I was very upset when I heard the bill at the end, but I have to admit it was the best haircut I have ever had lol.

Try the Aveda, Pure Talent and Namaste salons. They are where the people who have already been trained through Aveda and licensed receive further training to become master stylists. You can pay as little as $11 for an introductory haircut with someone who has just started their master training or you can pay as much as $35 for a master level stylist.

Al's Barbershop in Larimer Square (with another location in Boulder) is where i go. Cost is $30-35. I've been very happy with the quality of their work.

I agree if your hair is really short it doesn't matter that much. Otherwise, it makes a huge difference...I can't even explain it but you can just tell. I've always said never get a cheap haircut, cheap shoes, or cheap booze. You'll be sorry the next day.
