Hi all, first post here! Some great info on this forum!

My family and I are moving from central AZ to the Denver area in the second week of October. I have been searaching for an initial apartment on rent.com, apsrtmentguides.com and apartmentratings.com, and I can't find exactly what were looking for, so I was hoping that some locals can lend me a hand!

The most important things to us are security, and a balance between quality and cost. 1 bedroom (preferably 2), 1 bath or more, in a good neighborhood, in a good complex, all for $900 or less. I know, I know... that's what everyone wants! Haha.

Location is not a big deal, but it looks like every place I've looked at in Aurora has really bad reviews? Bad neighborhood?

Thanks all and I look forward to moving and your recommendations!

Try padmapper.com for rentals of all types. Beware of the warnings on Craigslist so you can avoid the scammers.

Check out Deerfield Apartments on S Quebec Way (on the edge of Denver proper...Aurora starts only a few blocks away.) We've lived here for almost 18 months now. The apartment manager is great (how's that for a nice change) and the area is relatively quiet, right around your price range. The biggest downside is location...as in we just aren't near much of anything, despite being smack in the middle of the metropolitan area. That said, getting around isn't difficult if you have a car.
