We want to be in an area that is walkable and active so that we can meet other young people our age. we basically want to be in an area that will give us the best feel for Denver. if its a studio, i would prefer to be under $700, but if it were a 1 BR, $900 would be our limit. From what i've seen you can get a newer or renovated apt in those areas around that range. As long as its clean and safe. we don't have jobs yet and we don't have kids yet so that's really the only criteria. friends have suggested these areas for us, but i would appreciate any other areas you might suggest. thanks!

Should have no trouble finding something in that range in Cap Hill, check padmapper.com. If you want lower price and walkable I'd suggest Cap Hill over Wash Park. Walkable to downtown even, and multiple Bcycle (local bike sharing) stations if that interests you.

I think everyone knows how to rent an apartment, but moving in from out of state with limited experience in the areas of town that are safe, walkable, clean, well maintained are things you can't find out without the help of someone living there.

I am moving in a few weeks, and rented what I thought was a great apartment, but am now finding additional reviews that list complaints of rats, bugs, bedbugs, dirty with outrageous utility bills due to poor insulation, lack of maintenance, lack of parking, etc. I thought Breakers Resort was a good community, but I guess not??

Now I'm looking for something that is clean, safe, prefer something in a good school area, and maybe walkable for the kids, around $1000/mo for at least a 2br.
