They do need to upgrade/change their entertainment around. Not sure what entertainment maybe bring in a local band on the weekday. Get a room with a TV to watch a sports event. Definitely upgrade the food.

Amazing to me what people call a ghetto. I wouldn't be scared to come out Casa Bonita in Lakewood at any time of the day, it's a run down strip mall if that what you mean though.

Personally I wouldn't change a thing.

You keep making these ridiculous statements about areas that you know nothing about. When you get older, and have more experiences, and lived in more types of places perhaps you can speak with knowledge. You do not even know or even understand the concept of a real ghetto, if you describe this area as a ghetto along West Colfax. You have much to learn young man!

You cannot see nothing when you live in a apartment or condo in the very southwest part of the metro area and then makes wrong assumptions of what you see from the windshield, as you speed through an area.

Readers understand that this area is older but not so decayed to define such a bad area as in this writer's imagination and I know because I live near here; go there often--I was just there today for business. The people in Lakewood see a big new senior housing complex just behind JCRS. Long term residents know that the Main Office of the Colorado Department of Revenue is just up the road on Pierce. People in the know that north of this place are modern apartments in well maintained neighborhood. People who regularly go to this area know of the unique and long term local restaurants, up and down Colfax. People who live in the area know of all the new retail development. People who have vision can see the new rail line and the potential just south along West 13th and east in Sloans Lake. Ah, but you are not one of these people, you just speak without any familiarity and knowledge and shoot words from the hip.

Changes?

First off, the food has to go. Absolutely nothing special about it (except for those bread like desserts with the honey(forgot the name)).

Also, the smell of mildew...like really??? Is that even healthy??

I just took a ride along the this new rail line, this past week, and it is very apparent that there will be much development.

Maybe I missed something but isn't it talking about the Casa Bonita in Tulsa closing, not the one in Lakewood?

You are correct but the whole story is that the parent company, Star Buffet, of the one is Lakewood has filed for bankruptcy, Chapter 11, and the one is Lakewood is still open. It is not surprising that that the chain is seeking reorganization and I got caught up into future development prospects and let some information out and failed to fully explain the situation.

Going to Casa Bonita without taking children under age 10 with you is like going to Disneyland without taking children under 10 with you. Just a bad decision. Not the fault of Disneyland/Casa Bonita. Ever tried the food at Disneyland? Goodness gracious its bad. Casa Bonita bad. They understand you're not there for the food so why bother making it better than barely edible? It's a theme park. Entertainment for children. Complaining about the food is part of the charm of the place.
