I was born and raised in NYC...

New York is pretty well known for its pizza, but that's quick take out food and I'm certain that category has been done to death on this board. I'm talking about the sort of thing you would either take someone to a restaurant to eat or make at home. While there are a tremendous amount of cultural foods here in NYC, there are more Italian restaurants than any other kind, so it's the most popular food in the city.

If someone came here from any other part of the country I would make a red sauce (you might think of it as a spaghetti sauce) with chicken cutlet parmigiana and stuffed shells (stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella) and meatballs, or I'd make lasagna (same ingredients, just a different pasta) and meatballs.

If someone from another part of the country came to Denver what would you cook for them as a way to say, "This is what we make here and you're going to love it!"

Were not really a foodie place but the farm to table concept is popular although it is more of a restaurant option for showing it to someone else.

Another thought is s'mores. People here love to camp and many people have fire pits in their yards for entertaining or relaxing.

Farm to the table concept? Never heard that term before. I'm obviously thinking that all foods come from a farm of sorts, but what do you mean by this expression?

Basically, straight from the farm. Some restaurants own a farm where they grow stuff. It's a foodie thing.
