It's not only the run-up in real estate prices, although that contributes significantly. I think it also has to do with the influx of a so-called "informed" coastal population. It's not the Denver I remember from the '60s.

Also, the marijuana legalization thing has attracted people I feel little in common with, although I'm not a hard core anti-MJ type. As long as they don't drive stoned, I couldn't care less.

Just my thoughts- no slam on your nice city...

Hate to break it to you man, but it's the teens now. No place in the country is the way it was 50 years ago. 100 million new people will do that to a place...

Default More desirable

1. Air pollution is less.
2. Restaurant selection is much improved. More. Varied.
3. Demographics are tilting younger. Love those kids. Even with their silly/stupid tats.
4. DPS are better. Not by much, but better. DSST is a good example.
5. Politics. Left, but not crazy.
6. Housing. Lots of gentrification. Increasing value of housing stock.
7. Bike trails. Huge amount of money spent on bike paths, lanes, trails.
8. Buy booze on Sundays.
9. Water. Denver Water has plenty for the future.
10. Parks. Extensive and improving.
11. Race relations. Seem to be good to OK.
12. MJ legalized. One step closer, l hope, to making all drugs (except antibiotics) OTC.
13. Beer. More than I can drink. Excellent quality.
14. Car2Go and others such as Uber. More transportation options.

I am very optimistic and happy.

If you aren't growing you're dying. I much prefer an ever-evolving Denver to the alternative which is a rotting, blighted cesspool of urban decay like Detroit or St. Louis.

Yup saw that and he likes to talk crap about Mexicans as well --

Yet, he chooses to live between the "undesirable" Colorado and the "informed" Californians in Phoenix with the "Mexicans".

We have us a real winner here in DougStark.

It's about time that an old fart with a political axe to grind complained about a progressive city.
