My family and I are relocating to the Denver area, and are looking for information on the areas. We are considering Centennial, looking for great schools and a safe neighborhood. At first we will be renting a 3 bedroom apt, but would like to be in an area where housing is also available. I have heard that Aurora is not as good as centennial. Can anyone give us some advice?

How much time have you spent reading through the many threads here that have already answered these kinds of questions? There's a wealth of information on housing costs, good schools, safe neighborhoods, etc.

SkyDog has asked good questions. It would be impossible for us to help you without getting more information.

I don't think there is anywhere in Centennial that is unsafe -- it's a very nice place to live in the metro area with excellent schools -- but you might avoid neighborhoods in the flight path of the regional airport because of the noise.

Centennial, Littleton, Highlands Ranch. That should cover you in the south as well as a range of home prices from $250,000 to $10,000,000. Schools are all good in those areas, although Douglas County is being derpy at the moment but I imagine that will be corrected in the next election cycle.
