My friend remembered visiting a childhood friend (about 20-30 yrs ago) in a very nice gated area called Shenandoah. She said it was guarded and gated with very nice homes. However, sometimes our childhood memories are a bit sketchy or what seems nice to a child is very different to an adult. Does anyone know where this is and anything about it??

Here is a post from another string...Shenandoah is a gated community of sorts. There's only one entrance to the subdivision of Smoky Hill Rd, which, while not barred shut by a gate, is guarded 24/7. (Although someone who really wanted to break in could probably find a way anyway). If you live there, you have to call up the guard and give them you're friends' names and addresses every time they want to visit you. I know several people who live there, and can vouch that it is definitely a nice neighborhood. Older, but well kept, custom/ semi-custom homes, mature trees, etc. The only complaint I have with it is their community pool-- it's dinky and bath-tub sized.
