I have been renting a house for several years. When I moved in, the month to month lease and receipts included the first months, the last months, and the security deposit.
Many years later, I received a letter to vacate. They are selling the place. Since I moved in, the rent has increased. Do I need to make up the difference between what I paid then and what I pay now for the last month’s rent or is it assumed that I pay nothing for the last month’s rent?

I would speak directly to the landlord, but I would think you do not have to pay the difference. It is always better to get something IN WRITING if it is not specified in your contract.

Yes, you need to make up the difference.

Technically yes you need to make up the difference, but I'd try to negotiate since they are forcing you to vacate. It might not work, but it's worth a try.
