We will be in the Denver, Colorado Springs (not sure yet) area during 4th of July and looking for a lake with jet ski rentals around this area. Thanks for the help!

Is that you something you do at home?

There are not Great Lakes for that here. There are lots of other things to do.

I won't say its impossible, but is highly unlikely in the Denver area and it will be impossible in Colo Spgs. Denver has Chatfield and Cherry Creek reservoirs right inside the metro. Expect long lines to get in. Not sure if they actually rent jet skis or not. Colo Spgs has no jet skis areas at all. Only lake in town that allows power boats is a members only body of water and only open to boating and jet skis in the mornings.

Otherwise you will be heading a fair drive north or far east of Denver and down to Pueblo or Walsenberg.

Honestly if you're looking to jet ski in this neck of the woods you'll be better off heading to Wyoming (Glendo or Guernsey) or Nebraska (Lake McConaughy).

During 4th of July weekend it will be too crowded to enjoy the reservoirs. We have very limited water recreation opportunities and on holiday's it isn't unusual for them to reach capacity and close the entrances for a while until some people leave. Probably best to wait until you go someplace with alot of natural lakes for jet ski rentals. When visiting Denver do some sort of mountain related activity.

What about river tubing? Any nice rivers around? We don't mind driving a couple hours.

If you have kids who don't have drivers licenses, they have to take a PWC operator's class. Just in case you didn't know.

McConaghy in NE is jet skiier central. Good recommendation to go there instead.

I live in the Guernsey Lake/Glendo Lake area of Wyoming. It is about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs north of
Denver. There are waverunner-jetski rentals at Glendo Lk, and Guernsey isn't far from there either-about a half hour drive.

They are really fun lakes for waverunners. Have to see what happens with the water level
this summer, however, since we have surplus snowpack in the mountains. In similar past years,
we even had some picnic tables at Glendo go underwater. There is a new Cobblestone Inn in
Guernsey and of course camping areas-RV areas in the parks.
