I hope this doesn't sound obnoxious but just wanted to confirm that you are aware that the hospital is now on the Anschutz campus (the old Fitzsimmons area) and not at Colorado and 9th?

Here’s the list of TC locations:

I had last been to the East Colfax one, not LoDo. Anyway, the original beloved CC store is no longer.

Went to Tattered Cover in LoDo one day about ten years ago, had a cup of coffee and a muffin, then went nuts, walked out with a SHOPPING BAG of books. Pray for me...

It’s more organized. Specific jazz group plays every Tuesday.

And check out the Cooper Lounge upstairs.

It is absolutely beautiful.

Certainly was a shock to see an Amtrak station made into an amazing public facility. As an East Coaster, I was used to NY Penn (crowded), Baltimore or Philadelphia Penn (sketchy), or Newark Penn (dumpy). So when I first walked into Denver Union Station I was expecting the same but instead people were playing ski-ball and getting wasted in the middle of the day. Beautiful job they did, and apparently L.A. Union Station is also amazing (complete with botanical gardens) but I haven't ventured out there yet.

One odd thing about Denver's Union Station is they had these great downstairs public restrooms back in 2016, but were constantly shut down when my office was located near there in 2017 and tried to occasionally use them. I never understood why this was when the main concourse restrooms were at capacity. Anybody know why?

It's interesting how Union Station is basically the centerpiece in some ways but the 16th Street Mall is where all the homeless people and panhandlers hang out. Most East Coast cities the homeless people are hanging out inside the train station, didn't see that in Denver.

Not at all. And yes, I was aware of the move. My Dad lived in the old Fitzsimmons area after he retired from the military and I visited him often, so I am at least familiar with the area - as it ONCE was anyhow.

You amateur book buyers are so cute! One of the highlights of running the Botanic Gardens library was going into TC once a week and sweeping all the books on growing gardens and flowers and botany and xeriscaping and everything else off the shelves at TC as part of my collection development project at Helen Fowler. Usually, I had to ask an employee help me carry all my treasures back to my car. That accomplished, I'd roll up my sleeves and get down to the REAL work - heading back into TC to buy books for my personal collection! They gave me a nice discount too because I was one of their good customers.

I will pray that you get to buy all the books that you desire whenever you get the chance. How's that?

Definitely huge changes since then in that area, but glad that you are focused on the correct side of town! Where it used to be is kind of a cool area too, although still a work in progress

Cool story. Our retirement community has a free library, I'm sitting here now with 1100 pages on U.S.Grant....

Welcome back!

A word of caution:
Your first ride on an e-scooter will be the most dangerous

A highly anticipated government study of e-scooter safety found especially high injury rates among new riders.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Texas’ Austin Public Health Department study found that one in three injured riders were hurt on their first trip, and about 63% had ridden nine times or fewer before their injury. . .
