Are there any old charming neighborhoods to explore besides "LoDo"? (Denver: loan)

On my first trip to Denver, I was able to explore some of "LoDo". It seemed a bit contrived and Disneyfied—more so than New York's SoHo or Chicago's West Loop. Are there any other older areas with charming architecture—warehouse, residential, etc. worthy of exploration? Everything else that I saw was newer (post-war) or kind of an industrial brownfield.

I'll add to that: Capitol Hill, Country Club, Alamo Placita, Regis, Speer, Baker, Sloan's Lake, Montclair, City Park, Cheesman Park, Congress Park, Platt Park, Park Hill, City Park, Cory-Merrill, Bonnie Brae, Five Points, Whittier. Lincoln Park, West Highlands. University Park, Rosedale.

If you go out to the ‘burbs: Arvada (Old Town), Golden (Downtown), Littleton (Downtown). Maybe not as old as what you are looking for, but definitely contain homes and architecture older than most of what can be found in Metro Denver.

Your replies to my two threads have been intensely negative, and this reply doesn't even answer my question in any way. I was not attempting to compare Denver with Chicago or New York, and for the record, Chicago has lost approximately 1 million residents since 1950. My question has been more thoughtfully answered by other posters who provided me with locations that I can actually go to this weekend.

Several days ago, I enjoyed my time at Great Divide, First Draft Taproom, and Ivy on 7th in Denver. The Bindery was terrible and Cattivella was overpriced. The Red Rocks were somewhat interesting, but not really in Denver, and I'm not sure particularly memorable without a concert. Is there anything else that I should check out in Denver's limits? I tend to like local favorites and midrange to near-upscale things/places.

The Brown Palace, American Museum of Western Art, Fruition, Union Station to name a few.

Stick with tourist magazines, Rino maybe highlands
