For the past 15 years, I've been living in California and it's time to move back home to Denver. A lot has changed! Rent increases, the constant building going on in Denver, etc. I barely recognize my hometown! If all goes well, I'd like to be in Denver by June 1st. Currently looking for a studio/1bdrm apartment that's dog friendly in the Capital Hill, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge area around the $1300 range. I'm a real estate agent and I plan to start fresh in CO once I get there. Building up contacts and selling homes won't happen instantly and I'm bracing myself for this. Picking up a part time job once I arrive until I get settled is the plan.

My question to the locals.. am I rushing things? I have $50k in savings. No official job waiting for me. Just savings and hopefully have an apartment lined up. Is this enough to start fresh and gain some traction in the work force without feeling pressured? Denver isn't cheap.. hence the reason why I'm hesitant. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

You may find a small studio for 1300. You cant be choosy, especially with a dog.
Look in a less desirable area. And you will need a good income this year.

I’m not opposed to Colorado Springs. Truth be told, I haven’t spend much time there ! I’ll do more research.

$1300 will get you nothing in any of those areas.

My buddy pays 1200 at the bel mar villa apartments for a 1 bed. There’s some car break ins but that’s everywhere now. It’s a decent area!

I see dogs there a lot.

I just moved to OC after being in Lakewood for 15 years. Miss the ski resorts but I’m really enjoying CA so far. It be expensive tho!
