Crime ticked up across the country during and after COVID. It's not a partisan issue.

The Colorado GOP has become a cult of losers. The leader of the party, Dave Williams, still pushes the baseless conspiracy (that cost Fox "News" $787,500,000) that Fat Donnie won the 2020 election. As long as the party is led by clowns like that, they deserve to be on the sidelines.

Congrats Denver fans!

I always enjoy seeing new teams, and teams from markets that the sports media doesn't always love to shove down our throats win the big one (like Milwaukee and Toronto a few years ago).

Also love watching Jokic play. Great player with a great attitude.

Enjoy the title, wouldn't mind seeing the Nuggets repeat!

You can relax and watch it all at home or work - It's being broadcast, streamed, live actioned - on lots of networks, platforms, apps

According to the news, the shootings that happened after the win was about a drug deal and not about celebrating the win.

himain was smart to avoid Denver today- 2 more people shot after the parade (not drug related so far).

Plus a fire truck hit a police officer - kinda sounds like Denver has some issues!

Stay classy Denver. I can hear it now......"but but but other cities have these same problems!".

It was never like this back in the 70's or even most of the 80's.

What changed?

The shooting was targeted. Not random. And had nothing to do with the parade.

Shootings happen in cities all the time. Particularly big cities.

The population is three times what it was then, but the crime per capita is actually overall lower now than it was then.

How about we get back to the NUGGETS....

NY Times email the other day said they have the makings of an NBA dynasty....

Excerpts:

The way they’ve done it stands out too. In four playoff rounds, nobody has come even remotely close to stopping the Nuggets’ offense. Their 120.7 offensive efficiency mark is by far the best in the postseason; second-place Boston is way back at 117.2.

It’s also instructive to look at that mark by series and see how helpless each opponent has been against Denver’s scoring might: 119.4 against Minnesota, 122.1 against Phoenix, 124.3 against the Lakers and 120.2 against Miami so far in the NBA Finals. Not only is Denver No. 1 in playoffs offense, but its four individual series would each rank No. 1 on their own.

The other reason we can ask about the Nuggets’ resiliency atop the NBA mountain, however, is by looking at the birth certificates of their key players. Nikola Jokić is 28, Aaron Gordon is 27, Jamal Murray is 26 and Michael Porter Jr. is 24. They are in the sweet spot of their careers, they are each signed for at least two more years and, even with three players on max deals, Denver’s salary-cap situation is completely manageable under the new CBA.

Not to mention the Warriors could really be finished. Lebron is on his last legs.

Not having to play peak Warriors/Lebron in the first 3 rounds will help them keep a chokehold on the conference.

Of course, new teams could, and likely will, emerge. But at the moment the West is wide open in terms of serious competition for Denver.
