My kids go to Cherry Creek High school, but my daughter has a friend who said they were going to Colorado School of Choice. I looked it up, and I can't figure out what it is, but it seems like it can be anything from homeschooling to private schools.

The friend got the terminology wrong.

Colorado has "school choice" which gives the parents the option of sending their child to a school in an area outside of the boundary of their own neighborhood school -- IF IF IF there is space in that other school and if the parent can arrange for transportation for that child. Often there's a lottery to see who can get in to that school. We've many articles on School Choice in the forum, just search on CHOICE.

If your kids are at Creek, going the school of choice route seems counterproductive.
