I grew up in Minnesota and moved to Denver 5 years ago for a change of pace and to finish college (I just received a bachelor's in environmental science). Now I'm missing family too much and I'm ready to move back within a few years. I was hoping someone could give me ideas for companies that I could work for and get a career started in Denver with the intention of relocating to Minnesota (preferably the cities area) in a year or two. Target and Xcel Energy are the big companies that come to mind because they have strong roots in Minnesota, but I need to expand my search farther than those two companies. I don't need moving expenses paid or anything. I would just want to transfer within the company. I'm open to all possibilities and I don't need to stay in the environmental field. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I also moved to Denver with my company, US West (now Qwest). I lived in Denver 2 years and then transferred back to Mpls, MN - wish I would have stayed. With the green thing going on, you might want to check with Qwest - the headquarters is in Denver with a strong presence in Mpls.

With the CenturyTel buyout of Qwest that will no longer be the case.

Boy, am I out of touch! I had not heard a thing about this. I'm retired from Us West and really don't pay much attention to it since the Qwest/US West fiasco. Thanks for the heads-up.

Where will the headquarters be now?

Monroe Louisiana. I've been there, not to knock the nice folks of that town but you really have to experience it firsthand to understand how very different it is.

I too worked for US West back in the 90's. Oh the days of free health insurance.
