In case anyone is looking for a wild time and has nothing better planned, GWAR will be at Summit Music Hall Halloween night. Yeah, I know they're not everybody's cup of tea and all...but they're friends of mine so I thought I'd spread the word.

It will be my 24th show...and they've not disappointed me yet.

Wear white...

Gwar puts on a awesome show, I never really got into their music much (more into the death metal/trash scene) but I've seen Gwar twice and the show they put is a must see!
How's the rock scene up in CO?...I was just browsing the Colorado forum (from Florida)and found it strange to see Gwar mentioned.
Having a great rock scene would just put send my hopes to moving to Colorado someday over the top.

GWAR was mentioned because I live here now and I'm an obsessive fan/friend of those guys LOL...I saw them SIX times this year. Two of which were the Florida shows which I flew down for because a friend invited me to come visit anyways. One was the GWAR-B-Q in Richmond, VA that I arranged a family vacation around in August. That was awesome...

I can't speak to the overall metal scene here in CO because I don't go out of my way for any other band, but GWAR has been givin' this state lots of love this year. We got 3 dates on the Spring tour AND Halloween...both of which surprised me. That kind of attention is usually reserved for a state like California. But I'm not complaining!

If anybody missed it and wishes they hadn't, they will be back through on a secondary tour in the spring most likely.

Red Rocks is amazing, I was there on my trip last September, didn't catch a show there but just being there was great, definitely one of a kind place, the acoustics must be great.

I heard Gwar was here in FL not too long ago, but the scene here in South Florida sucks and you never hear of anyone coming down until its too late. We don't even have a rock station....that's how bad it is. Thank goodness for Iheart Radio so I can stream KBPI !

Well I've got a few musicians that I keep half an eye on via Facebook and email subscriptions so that's how I keep tabs on what shows are happening when and where, that I might care to see.

Beyond that I'd say you can also search for a Facebook page or email newsletter from venues that host concerts you like.

I can't imagine relying on any "scene" or radio to tell me what's going on. I work full time in an office and never listen to radio, I'm too old for all of that. You kids today and your "scenes" and your "cores" and stuff...why...back in MY day...Metallica and MTV didn't always suck! lol
