Oh, I have a good one.. Why are most of the members of Polar bear clubs old? You often see fat, old men jumping in ice cold water for way longer than I would ever try. Also, I belive seasonal depression can work both ways for folks. Have you ever met someone that had moved to somewhere like Phoenix AZ, and after a few months/years just got absolutely sick of it? Its nice to have the change of weather. This was not age related but I figured I would throw it in..

I for one love Colorado's weather. And I think it's cool how the temps typically swing 30-40 degrees, from the day's high to the day's low, on a regular basis. I love hiking on a sunny, 35-degree day in a t-shirt. And I also love it when the weather gets violent. It keeps things real, and it keeps people humble.

As they say, if you don't like the weather, wait an hour.

I agree, (though sometimes the timing of Colorado's weather feels a bit off.)
Compared to other places, I don't think the cold is bad at all in Denver or Colorado in general.
It's funny to see the perspective that other people have of different states.
Many people really do think that it is always cold and snowy in Colorado, and of course the recent weather adds to this.(Remember the Bronco Blizzard?)
It's the same with us, everyone thinks all of Florida is always hot and humid, but last winter, where I live, we had more than 10 nights where it got down below 32°.

It took me many years to get used to the Colorado weather, and expect the unexpected. Now I love it!

All I can do for another month is go by the numbers.

By all I can tell Denver winters are not so severe that they should be crushing everybody over 55 years old and rendering them almost crippled as many posts I read here spin it.

Maybe when I get there I'll have to eat my words but I think some of these people are WAY over the top dramatic with their assessment of how drastic Denver winters are.

Lucky me, I choose to move there in Nov. of what is reported to be a colder than average winter... Wonder if I will be able to use layers effectively and maybe pick up an Army cold weather survival field manual or something to get a few life saving pointers. War Alaska!

Welcome to the rocky mountain west.

I remember driving across the desert one time a couple years ago in a truck that had a gauge that showed outside temperature. It was about 80 degrees as I drove on the highway. I approached a rainstorm and as the raindrops started hitting the truck, I saw the temperature drop about one degree every second until it hit 60 degrees in the middle of the rain. Once I got through the rain and out from under the rain clouds, the outside temp went back up to 80 degrees.
