I found a great new site yesterday for renters. The site is www.renterspm.com They offer free foreclosure checks so you don't rent a home in foreclosure. Or if you are renting a house, you can find out if the home is in foreclosure. Sounds like a good idea to me in this economy!

You can do this yourself by looking at the public trustee's website.

That is true. But if you did not know what to look for or how to do it, the site could be helpful. Besides they don't charge you to do the research for you!

Here are some of the Public Trustee's web sites:

Denver

El Paso County / Colorado Springs

Douglas County

Arapahoe County

Adams County (http://co.adams.co.us/PTForeclosureSearch/ - broken link)

Jefferson County

Boulder County

Turns out that one only needs a google search like this one: "Jefferson County Public Trustee" and up it pops, same for any county, it proved very easy to find these. Navigating them takes some trial and error, they're all different.
