Hi I'm moving from Texas and wanted to know if anyone knew of what city or areas would be comparable to Plano Texas? In terms of safety, education?

What are the most desirable areas in Denver and surrounding areas?

I suppose I'll be the person to ask:

1) What is your budget for housing?
2) What is your current living situation (e.g. married, kids, etc.)
3) What are your must haves and what are your wants?
4) Where is your job located?

I've only been to Plano twice and it's a lot like the surrounding suburbs of Denver. I'd say maybe Littleton to Centennial and south, although I don't know much about the northern / western suburbs.

What part of Denver? It's a big area, and we don't want to waste time recommending areas that are too far from your work.

What is your rental budget per month?

Denver, the city & county, covers 154.9 miles. So no one would traverse that twice daily if it could be avoided.

The metro area generously includes Boulder, is a 4,531 square miles is the 17th largest in the nation.

So knowing where work is helps us help you.

The best area in Denver is Denver Country Club. Here's a nice house for rent: https://www.padmapper.com/listings/1...r-CO-80218-in-

If you want better help, give us better information.

Where is the job? (just saying "Denver" is not helpful)
How much commute time is acceptable?
What is your budget?
How much house do you want?
What do you want in a neighborhood (lot size, character, urban/suburban)?
In which grades are the kids?
Public or private schools?

Nowhere in CO will be truly comparable to Plano, unless you are looking at some specific statistic (city size, etc.) Be prepared for a big culture shock. CO has a much different culture than TX, especially with interpersonal communication. Be prepared for a more northern mindset and approach.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. 90% of the Metroplex is bland and soulless.

Yeah, I agree. But I'm talking about cultural difference, which I've encountered to a large degree, and often is not discussed or pointed out. I'm just trying to get the OP - like others from that state - be aware of a area of potential difficulty. There can be a big difference, including in the work place, between southern ways and northern ways.

Having moved here from greater Boston, I would say that Denver is western and not northern.
