Ankeny; Urbandale; Waukee; wanting to live about 2-5 min from these schools:

Souteast Elementary, Olmsted Elementary, Eason Elementary

who can tell me about the areas??? The homes look very affordable...lots of newer developments...

I don't know about those specific schools, but the districts you listed are excellent. Pretty much any suburban district is going to have good schools in the DSM Metro.

Just looked on Google maps, and heres my take.

Olmstead Elementary is in a great area (all of Urbandale is for the most part). Looked online at some reviews and it got good reviews.

Southeast Elementary is in a good area. Ankeny is growing by leaps and bounds so you can't go wrong there. Ankeny grew by 43% (about 11,000) between 2000 & 06.

The area near Eason is great too. Mostly newer developments. I think its right on the edge of town, but in a few years there will be new development as far as the eye can see.

When I left DSM 6 years ago, there was not much West of 35 on University Ave. Now there is tons of stuff.

I would choose Waukee, then Urbandale and Ankeny in that order if it were me.
