They DO exist! Should I buy one for my car once I move to AZ?

LOL! I just saw the one that said "captive" the other day and couldn't stop chuckling . . .

Sure! Get one in a color that complements your car!

I thought the whole point of those things was to give the ol' FU to transplants, not the other way around.

Yeah I was surprised none of you guys had ever seen these, they really are all over. It's just not at all a unique-to-Iowa thing, you see the same sort of idea in tons of states.
I also haven't ever grasped why it's such a terrible thing. Why shouldn't Iowans be proud of where they live? That's how we get rid of any meaningless stigma people might still have about our state.

That would be coming from a pretty negative outlook on life in general IMO.

Never occured to me to look at it from that standpoint.

Out west that's what they're for. You have "Washington Native", "Idaho Native", "Arizona Native" and the like on bumper stickers, and they're meant to be a derogatory remark against Californians that have moved to neighboring, and other nearby, states.

Me, neither.

I'm a native Michigander and had a goose with a Michigan flag as a rear tire cover for a lot of years. I suppose that could be viewed as an insult in some quarters. I just thought it was cooler than some football team's logo.

It also didn't get me in trouble in Columbus, OH as much as a U of MI tire cover would have.

I leave THURSDAY! Just in time, too, as it is supposed to get cold this weekend.

I'll still moderate here
