DETROIT, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Detroit Mayor Dave Bing's refusal of a suggestion to erect a statue of RoboCop in the city set off a flurry of Twitter and Facebook support for the idea.

The controversy surrounding the cyborg protagonist of the "RoboCop" film franchise, which took place in a futuristic Detroit, began Monday with a statue suggestion directed to Bing's Twitter account, the Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday.

Whatever you were trying to say, it didn't make any sense to people who read and write in English. By the way, rockstar, North LV is a pit.

Trust me, it is, I worked there. And, if you don't like taking criticism, you shouldn't be dishing it out. It seems to me that the place with the highest unemployment rate in the nation shouldn't be badmouthing the place with the second highest. A perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black.

This is probably a good thing. The last thing Detroit needs to be associated with is crime, murder, drugs, and corruption.

Depend where north your talking of? 215/losse is all new

Also i live both here in Detroit and Las Vegas.

Here in Michigan No Jobs for me out there yes i work and have more Jobs

But back about Detroit i lived there most my young years back when Mayor Coleman Young was in office. Back then RoboCop was a movie in the City...

Do you think back then Coleman would of said No?

Besides how long do you think if they put it up it would stay there? Before someone cuts it down and takes it to the Scrap yard?
