All the Japanese expats I used to work with seemed to gravitate to Sushi Den in Walled Lake. I never got a chance to try it personally before moving away, but they used to have pretty good competition from a local bar called Casey's (right across the street; surprisingly good sushi along side standard bar fare), until their sushi chef left. Now, Sushi Den is the go-to place.
