I recently became a Type II and was put on amaryl and metformin. my fingersticks have generally been in the low 90's(occasionally in the 80's too and just tonite i was 78) after work before dinner.
i recently bought a package of Walgreen's generic Metamucil psyllium fiber that was NOT sugar free. i normally take a SUGAR FREE serving at night to make me more regular the next day but i forgot to buy sugar free for the replacement package
the NON Sugar free serving contains 9 mg of sugar. will this be harmful to me, should i just throw it out or give it to someone, or do you think i will be ok with the 9 mg's?

That is a tiny amount of sugar. A teaspoon of sugar contains 4000 mg of carbohydrate. Just use it up.

Take the serving and test your blood sugar a couple of hours later to see how you react. If your blood sugar is too high then lower the dose or stop taking it. If your glucose registers in the normal range then the serving of Metamucil is OK for you.
I would give it to someone else. Don't throw it away.
The less sugar you intake the better off you'll be.
