This sort of thing is EXACTLY WHY YOU NEED TO KEEP A FOOD DIARY.

I had heard the same things when I first was diagnosed. Keeping a food diary let me see that -- FOR ME -- beans were very bad. My glucose numbers went up and stayed up with beans. And rice. And carrots. I missed carrots.

Where as potatoes didn't seem to bother me at all.

Keep in mind I had to really learn portion control.

I haven't tried beans in a while. As I've lost weight, I'm not nearly as reactive on what I eat as how much I eat. Portion control seems to be the thing....

Thanks for the tip.

I'm on the opposite end with hypoglycemia. And it still is difficult to eat right.

I'm surprised about the red potatoes. Used to love bean soup. Guess I better bring it back out.
