Meyer, I have been maintaining my weight for two years now because I've come to realize that what I used to call "diet food" when I was younger, is now what I have to eat maintain my weight. No more pizza, pasta, TBones, etc, except for the occasional treats. That stubborn belly fat is just one more nasty thing on the list of the physical changes women end up with as we age.
The sad thing is that pizza, pasta and T-bone steaks are perfectly healthy as long as you prepare them the right way. Absolutely nothing wrong with a pizza or pasta made from whole grains and fresh ingredients. A t-bone steak is good but control your portion and don't have fries and the pre-packaged sauce with it. The things you should avoid you don't mention: artificial stuff and sugar laden (or worse: HFCS) things like desserts, cookies, pre-made or ordered meals, etc.
I don't know your diet but a woman your age doesn't have to be overweight. There is no natural law that says you get fat at that point, it's just the wrong diet that screws you over by then.
ILLB and Meyerland, thanks SO much for your replies. Lipo for the belly fat doesn't sound like a good solution. That's what I wanted to know and you've both answered it. Thanks.
ILLB, I know the Shouldice clinic is a reputable hospital (been there with our son), so I'll check the diet out. Never heard of Ultherapy... will check that out too. Thanks.

Let me know if you can't find the diet. DM me and I can email my friend in Canada and ask her to send it to me.
The Ultherapy isn't cheap but my friend's results were amazing and she had 5 kids. But there are many places that won't do the Ultherapy on bellies. It is made for the face, but some will. BUT there are so many other types of laser that tighten belly skin. Here is one I found. I am not promoting this site, just showing you what to look for.
I never had lipo myself, but do know a couple of people who did, and it was basically a waste - they gained back all the fat and more, and as others have said, in places they did not want. I too, have a good figure except for some excess belly fat, but I am trying my hardest just to eat correctly and work out and hope it shrinks naturally.
I didn't have liposuction, but I had Coolsculpting done a couple of days ago. It reduces fat by about 20-25%. Only thing is it takes about 3 months to see results because it takes the body that long to absorb the deal fat cells.
