Hey guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself to you guys. My story's a little unique. I was born
fat, but lost 75 pounds in high school and enjoyed the perks of being super fit for years. I became an athlete, a physical trainer certified through the ISSA, and I felt I dated a lot more. I just felt better about myself.
But after a bad breakup 13 years later, I stopped caring (in more ways than one) and put on 150 lbs! I felt like I trapped myself behind a mountain of fat that had once been a hill...even though as a trainer I knew what to do! As a fat person especially, I really took offense to a lot of these miracle pills some companies sell (don't change your lifestyle, just take lipozene? yeah ok. I'm a wishful thinker but I'm not an idiot).
I realize it takes a lifestyle change, And simply, I must expend more calories than I take in, but I wasn't ready for a long time. It took me a while to sort my problems out...and like all of us I'm still sorting something or another. But once my indifference began to keep me in my room all the time, I felt the need to change.
I'm still fat, but I have a large recepticle of knowledge from which to draw. I log each calorie I put in my body and make sure I don't pass 1500. And I exercise once a day. 3 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training (on non consecutive days...with not more than a minute break in between sets to make it a cardio workout as well). Also, its important for me to have a break day where I don't exercise and don't diet (eating what I crave MODERATELY). I lost 50 or 55 pounds so far (its hard to tell because I first weighed myself on an analog scale). Anyway, thats my story. I still have 100 pounds to go. And I weigh myself on my new digital scale once a week.
I just wanted to join to be a help to anyone who felt they needed support. I just made my first youtube video 2 days ago, and I think thats helping me too. Basically I weigh myself every saturday
and talk about my experiences lke a video journal, but I want to inspire as many people as I can, because having more than a hundred pounds to lose made me feel so helpless for a long time. And in turnhaving these videos will pressure me to not fudge on my workouts or diets. To be quite honest, I recommend when those who have weight to lose do something about it, make a video too. So far
Im finding it helpful.
Anyway, if you have a chance, stop by my youtube page and let me know about yours if you have one!
