I lost 19 pounds and swear by IF! It allows you to eat/cheat and still lose. I started at 16-8 but have now pushed it to 18-6. It is doable with a little willpower! The most difficult for me was giving up my foo foo coffee in the morning. Black coffee was tough but there again-- doable.
My experience is that you need to give it longer than just a week. I do the 16/8 a lot, and it takes time to learn about yourself while doing it and how you might need to tweak things. Just a thought...
