You need more calories and you especially need more protein. I can eat fruit and vegetables all day long and they do not stick with you. Chow down a can of water pack tuna, a hard boiled egg or 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese when you feel hungry. Stay away from simple carbs (sugar or white flour). They do you no good and you just crave more.

If he likes to bake you can make better for you baking alternatives.Recently there was a "power brownie" story on yahoo shine:

There are so many alternatives with that kind of thing. He may like playing mad scientist in the kitchen!
